Oliver Barta

Oliver Barta, Vice President Human Resources of Bosch Thermotechnik GmbH, Appointed Chief Negotiator for Hessenmetall.

Oliver Barta has been involved in the executive board of the Central Hessian district group of Hessenmetall since 2012 directing the association as chairman since 2018. In future, he will also conduct the collective bargaining for the Hessian metal and electrical industry. The site director of Bosch Thermotechnik in Wetzlar knows the industrial branch like no other but is also aware of the challenges which the companies and their employees are facing at the moment. “We haven’t had such an economically tense situation as the current one since the Second World War. It is most important that we accomplish a collective bargaining agreement which meets the requirements of our situation,” emphasizes Oliver Barta in an interview with F.A.Z.

Even more so in view of the persistent COVID-19 pandemic. On top of that, the roughly 640 member companies of Hessenmetall have to cope with a considerable structural change in the industry which doesn’t make their situation any easier. For Oliver Barta as the chief negotiator for the employers’ association of the biggest industry in Hesse and as head of HR of Bosch Thermotechnik in Wetzlar, one question therefore is prior to all others: “How can we protect employments and at the same time get our employees the qualification required for the structural change?” These are the challenges that will occupy not only the employers' association and industry in the future, but the economy, society and politics in a broader sense.
