Creating Added Value

The success of the second W3+ FAIR in Wetzlar has persuaded over 70 per cent of this year’s exhibitors to register for next year’s networking event already. Behind the scenes, preparations are already underway for the third W3+ FAIR on March 2 and 3, 2016 in the Rittal Arena.

The W3+ FAIR networking event has established itself as a promising marketplace for making contacts, exchanging ideas and initiating business deals. A comparable concentration of expertise in the field of optics, electronics and mechanics is hard to find, as demonstrated by the large number of company owners, managing directors and top decision markers from the various sectors who attend the fair. The national and international interest is growing from year to year.

More than 130 companies, partners and sponsors from nine countries presented their high-tech products and services this spring. There were roughly 30 percent more exhibitors than at last year’s W3+ FAIR. In fact, the number of international representatives has more than trebled. And there has been a significant increase in visitor interest, too – over 2,400 trade visitors came to the fair over the two days.

A very positive response was generated by the attendance of so many company owners, managing directors and top decision-makers, which was the result of the deliberate choice of venue. “For us, the W3+ FAIR is a must,” says exhibitor Willi Weder, CEO of the Swiss company WZW OPTIC AG. “We’ve been on board right from the start and in the two days we meet a lot of key contacts from the German optics cluster. We’re not after quantity, it‘s quality we’re looking for.” That’s why he comes here every year.

Ralf Niggemann from the industrial alliance Wetzlar Network was accordingly satisfied: “The exhibitors confirm the quality of the contacts for networking, partnerships and new business. That‘s exactly what the W3+ FAIR stands for.” And this compact event concept with its focus on networking is popular with visitors, too: in a visitor questionnaire, over 95 per cent of those asked said they would recommend the W3+ FAIR to others.

With the highest recommendations and a good strong tailwind, the networking fair for optics, electronics and mechanics is heading toward next year’s W3+ FAIR in the Rittal Area, which will be held on March 2 and 3, 2016. After this year’s repeated success, there are plans to expand the next event, giving it more floor space and adding further highlights to the supporting program. The keynotes and seminars, the campus and start-up areas and a focus on recruitment will be continued. “The fair already enjoys an excellent reputation as a showcase of the region and an important flagship for the many innovative companies and technology leaders. Next year will see a further increase in the concentration of expertise – regionally, nationally as well as internationally,” promises Jörg Brück.

As project manager from the fair organizer FLEET Events, he approaches companies and associations from San Francisco to Singapore, inviting them to take part in the fair. But how do you convince global companies? “The great appeal is the world-famous location, combined with the unique opportunity to meet proven experts in the fields of optics, electronics and mechanics under one roof within a time frame of two days. For those wanting to use this added value, the W3+ FAIR is ideal.”
